The holy month of Ramadan is fast approaching. At Sarvatma Sevashram, the preparation for free meal distribution is at full swing. Like every year, this time also evening meal will be served at various places across the country. Motivated by ‘Sarva Dharm Sambhav‘, The Khidmat Foundation reaches out to people irrespective of religion, caste, colour or creed. ‘Sarvatma Seva’ is our commitment to serve humanity indiscriminately. We strongly believe that all religions lead to one Truth, the ultimate reality. Therefore, we serve to those who have been fasting from early morning till sunset with love and sincerity. For, serving Almighty’s creation is serving God himself.
There are several processes involved in the distribution. Let’s take a look at how raw material gets procured, cooked at our langarkhanas, packed properly so that food remains fresh, thereafter transported from the centres to the langar sites and finally served by the Khidmat team.
Stage (I): Procurement from Various Places
Stage (II): Cooking at the Ashram and Assembling of Food Items
Stage (III): Packaging
Stage (IV): Transporting to the Distribution Sites
Stage (V): Serving Evening Meal at Hyderabad (Telangana), Gulbarga (Karnatka), Bombay (Maharashtra), Ajmer (Rajasthan) and Delhi.
Each Serving Matters… Here’s why:
- About 10, 000 people are fed throughout the special month of fasting at various locations in India.
- It has been observed that the langar as evening meal serves the poor people as morning meal before the beginning of the fast.
