(H)yderabad Emergency Relief

September 23-25, 2016: Emergency Food Support Program at Hyderabad

Last September, Hyderabad-Secunderabad area was severely affected by the untimely shower and thunderstorm leading to flash floods and utter chaos. I remember distinctly because we were staying at Hyderabad Ashram in Jubilee Hills those days. People were put to work immediately, messages were sent across, GiveFood Facebook page was updated. We were reaching out to people of the city by providing emergency food and water support. Here is glimpse of Hyderabad Food Support Program-

Day#1: The Khidmat Foundation’s initial dispatch reached the relief camp in Nizampet. Apart from this, cooked food was served in various rain-affected areas of Hyderabad city. That same night, lemon rice was cooked in the langarkhana. Everyone, including Baba himself organised for the early morning dispatch. All hands working together for the same cause, what a night it was!

Day#2:  The second consignment had reached Nizampet in the morning. Food and water packets were served in other rain-affected areas.

Day#3: Early morning on September 25, third consignment reached Bharathi Nagar Colony remotely situated near Alwal District, Secunderabad.
